BAS light on 1998 E320: Where's the darn stop lamp switch?
Hi all:
The BAS light on my car stays on after the car's started. I've found that if i press down on the brake and then start up the car, the BAS doesn't light up. But as soon as i let go the brake, the light pops right back. I've decided to replace the stop lamp switch. But after opening up the dash cover on my e320, I can't find any brake switch behind the brake pad. Does anyone know where exactly it is? I've managed to connect an Actron CP9135 OBD II auto scanner to my car so i can read out the codes. The scanner reads: "Pass No Codes Returned". I'm assuming that means there aren't any significant sensor malfunctions that might cause the BAS light to turn on. But i'm not very sure. Any ideas? |
okay, nevermind. I replaced the stop lamp switch and everything is fine now! :)
One quick question: I try to fully extend the plunger and then insert it, but the plunger seems to be depressed a bit when i plugged it into the housing. Is this normal? |
