They believe the white smoke I observed on de-activating the cruise was the overflow valve for the transmission fluid burping and hitting the manifold. They also replaced the oil filler cover as it had a hairline crack. However there was not alot of oil spewed on the underside of the bonnet so I am still wondering how I consumed so much oil on the drive home (2 qts). I have asked them to replace the oil and filter and I will pay attention to the levels. Thanks again for the help.
