M104 operating temps
 

more on the 300TE I have on loan- the temp. gauge runs at 85 for high-speed cruising, and 90 around town, up to 95 stuck in traffic. Are these normal ranges for this engine? The car has the wrong kind (green) coolant in it btw.

Also, this car has no sign of head gasket leak (no oil in coolant, coolant looks clean) but there is a thin layer of mulch on the inside walls of the coolant exp. tank.

These temperature are normal. According to MB, the temperature can approach 120 C in certain conditions and is of no cause for conern.
