Want your opinions

Currently I'm driving a 1986 W124 300E. The car is O.K. I've spent some $$$$ on it, but really nothing out of the ordinary for a 18year old car.

I am thinking of getting another car (I'll give my current car to my sister) and I would like your honest opinions. Here are the 2 cars I'm considering.

1. 300CE W124 (These 2dr cars are awesome. Chicks are attracted to them and guys love its sporty look). Were the CE made continuously 86-95? Or were they made only in certain years? Which one would you suggest?

2. 1996 E320 4Dr - I want the "new" mercedes front end, but I want to stick with the inline 6 since the "bugs" has already been worked out. It's the same engine & transmission in the 94-95 300E anyway. [I would also consider the 97' but I don't know if the new 5 speed transmission is reliable - comment anyone?]

I remember reading about trouble with the 5 speed transmission mating up with the inline 6 in the '97 E320 and that there is a fix for it. A search will shed more light on it.
