Yesterday I replaced that ugly looking 80s Steering wheel from my 86 300E. I put in it's place the sleeker wheel from a 98 W140. The only problem is the stock Airbag and Horn Contact plate that fits between the Wheel and the steering colunm doesn't fit on the new wheel. The wheel fits on perfectly it's just that for now the airbag and horn aren't funtional.
If anyone knows any info about this please post. The S-class Steering wheel looks very similar to the later W124 wheels. So does anyone know if they are identical, so I might find the part I need?

You will not be able to make this work easily. You will have to go with an aftermarket Wheel from Brabus or something I think. Even the later 124 wheels are a little different.
