oil pressure gauge erratic...

When going to a stop and/or at a stop, my oil pressure gauge jumps around. Would this be a bad sender?

thanks,

Jumps around?

Its normal for the pressure to drop at idle and then peg the needle when accelerating or at speed.

jumps

when at idle, it does jump once or twice before settling down. If at idle long enough, it does it again. It just started happening. I'm also experiencing "surging", but not too bad, during idle from 700-850 rpm. These may be related i guess....

ideas?

thanks,

from what I've read the needle 'jumping' is pretty normal behavior. As long as it doesn't drop to 0 you're ok.

I had surging for a bit too, after I cleaned the plate on my air-flow sensor pot (under the air cleaner) it was fine.
