oil psi gauge spikes to 3

92 400e....124, M119...
oil psi gauge jumps two 1 or 2 when ignition is turned on...upon start, gauge jumps immediately to 3...
do i have a bad psi sensor?
if so, where is it on th v8 and can it be changed by a diy'er
