The light just appeared..Prior to that, in the past six months intermittantly the engine turns over but does not fire.After a few minutes it will start. New spark plugs were installed after the trouble first began. Several months have gone by and now the trouble is back. 52000miles. Excellent performance when it runs. 23mpg average. Is the check engine light related to the intermittant start problem? Thanks

Doubt that the 2 things are related, more likely than not the non-starting is related to a defective over-voltage relay. The check engine light is a different story. You will need to read codes with tester to determine problem.
