Power steering pump leak?
 

1990 300E. Leaking power steering fluid. The fluid is leaking down on top of the AC compressor and dripping off the bottom of it.

I can't see where the leak is exactly. Is there a particular place these like to leak??

I had the same problem.I drained all the fluid,removed the pump and replaced the seal,filter and added all new fluid. No more leaks.

Thanks. Would that be the seal around the shaft or the seal in the cover on the top?

I had a similar leak on my 380 SE. Turned out to be the hose going to the steering column. You couldn't see the leak but evidently the braize was broken at the flange to the reservoir. It was tough to remove at the column end. Use 2 wrenches. One to hold and one to turn the fitting off. No more leak but the hose was 90 bucks at FastLane.
