In a pinch any tool that works, works, right?!
Well, this is one way to get an an engine out...
Hell, it worked. and I didn't even have to go to the emergency room! (too bad I didn't get a shot w/ me in the engine compartment after we ran out of "up" and I had to stand on the motor mounts and lift the back-end of the tranny while he pushed the car back!) Anybody else try to kill themselves w/ rigged up equiptment like this?:

My puller is a 16ft 4x4 bolted on top of 2 16 ft 4x4 burried 4 feet into the ground. That and length of chain and a comealong.

Oh yea, have I ever. Dropped a tranny out of a 300zx in my garage and tried to use my sons skateboard to set it on a role it out. Ended up with a couple of mangled fingers and a crushed skateboard not to mention a pissed off teenager.
But then again we shade tree's never learn do we
