'95 E420 Throttle Actuator
About a year ago, I replaced the engine wiring harness in my '95 E420 Mercedes Benz. Typical problem with the wire insulation becoming brittle, cracking off, and wires shorting. Was told that I should also check the wires going to the throttle actuator. Does anyone have an image of where it is on the engine, or a good technical description of where it is located? What is the syptom if the wires short on that unit? Thanks, all.

Just follow the air inflow until you get to the butterfly valve - that's it. The wiring comes off the base of it towards the ECU - that is towards where the battery would normally be but isn't because it's in the trunk. It's main job is controlling air/fuel mixture but impacts other things as well - e.g. cruise control.
