300E -warm air from vents
my 300E's air-con is up the spout, and now it doesn't even seem to blow cool air out of the vents when the temperature wheel is on full 'cold' with high humidity and temp -should I expect to get just warm air blowing out or should it be cooler? My wife's car seems to have cooler air on just the fan setting (no AC) even when it's real hot out.
It doesn't blow hot air all the time, like some people seem to have reported having a problem with, just if it's particularly nasty out. I'm not expecting to get AC-like temps, but I don't seem to to get anything near approaching cool.

Sounds like you might have a bad MONO valve.
IF that's true- you would get full-heat regardless of the temp wheel setting. Go to Manual and review the test proceedure- it's easy. Michael

I say mono valve too. While you are at it. my 90 and brotheres 92 would blow hot and cold when in AC mode. Usually in 5 min cyles. This went on for years. We both cleaned the 'Main Ground" going from the engine to tranny bell housing on drivers side of our 300-E's. The whole climate control system on both cars went back to flawless performance. It also corrected his jiggling enging temp guage to 'no more jiggle' and it restored my heat sensors that trigger my Electric Aux. Twin Fans. I don't think cleaning the ground will do anyting for your problem (Monovalve) but if an old car, clean that ground and many thing got the right electricical flow again, and go back working.
