Soap water: how thick should it be? (to go between body and rubber)
"Coat holding groove in trimstrip with soap water and slip trimstrip starting from corner on pane."
"Push rubber cover on trimstrip aside and apply soap water all-around between rubber and body." This is from 67-220 Removal and installation of ornamental frame on back window from MB service CD. How thick should the soap water be? |
Used to use 1 part liquid dishwashing soap to 2 parts warm water for installing window gaskets on vehicles. Applying the solution with a paint brush makes it easier. When you are all finished just flush-rinse everything and the soap will be carried away. Be generous with the lubrication, it'll make things a lot easier.

Yeah, it made the job a lot easier. I succeeded this time with thick soap water. Thanks.
I first tried to make the soap water only from soap bar, but I had no patience, and added liquid stuff available in bathroom: Dove body wash, facial cleanser, . . . |
