How to remove the cluster window?
I created a couple of hooks with a hanger and pulled the cluster out. How do I remove the window in order to clean the needles?
Thanks. c280 1994 |
All of the gages unscrew from the cluster from the back. Take them out that way to clean them. You really don't want to remove the front plastic on the cluster.

Oh...So I'll have to take the cluster all the way out then, bummer. My wheel doesn't tilt, so I'll have to take the wheel off it looks like.
Thanks for the info. |
My wheel doesn't tilt either. If your carefull you can get the cluster out without removing the steering wheel. Just takes a little wiggling. You'll need to disconnect all the connections to the cluster of course to do it.

Thanks. I started to a while back, but it looked like I might tear up my dash. So I pushed it back in. Maybe I'll pull it out this weekend and see if I could get it out of there.

When I remove the clusters on the 123's, I first remove the under-dash panel. You can reach up and push the cluster out with your hand. Behind the cluster are two nuts that hold the steering columnup. they can be reached to ease removing the cluster completely.

Thanks luc, I will check that out.
