I’m installing a car alarm on my ’85 190e this weekend and I need to know how to access the ignition switch wiring harness. I want put in a starter kill switch and have to cut the starter (violet/white) and ignition (Red/Black) wires. Does anyone know where I can locate these two wires?

Also does anyone know how to hook-up remote door locks. I’ve never worked with a vacuum locking system before. Do you have to add an actuator or can you wire up an existing actuator in the door. I’ve noticed that each one has 3 wires going into it. Has any one done this?

Thanks

There is an easy place to access the start wire. IT is mounted on the firewall right behind the oil filter and has a connector there already. (No wires to cut)

The vacuum locks have to be wired with two relays. This is not easy. You will need a wirring diagram to do this.

Benzmac,

Thanks for the reply. I finished 90% of the alarm this weekend and will do the starter wire next. Can you tell me what color the wire is?

Also, I have a wiring diagram and am somewhat familiar with relays. Can you give me the proceedure on how to wire up the door locks?

Thanks

I found this diagram for vacuum locks. If this is correct, what color wire should be cut and where is the location of the wire? My alarm also supports a 3-second pulse.

Thanks
