Help me out? Reset service reminder... I don't have a owners manual

Hello all,

1999 e320 4matic wagon; I do all my own work on this sled, but I don't know how to reset the service reminder. I searched here and everyone says to read your manual, but my car didn't come with one. I'm trying to buy one, but in the meanwhile could someone please help me out and post how to actually reset the service reminder?

Many thanks!!

I can only speak for my W210 and it is 30 and 60K to reset the O sensor light.

If you search, I know I have described this several times at this site. BUT here it is ONCE AGAIN:
You must be in the car with the doors closed, this isn't even actually in the manual!!! But it's true.
OK, once the doors are closed, turn the key to ON (don't start it, just so all the idiot lights are on). OK, then press the "0" button (the one that resets the trip meter) twice rather quickly, the trip meter will then display the miles or time remaining on the FSS service. If you are way over on service and this is being displayed automatically, wait to do this until after the trip meter goes back to the trip meter display, hope that makes sense to you. Once you've double "clicked" the "0" button, then push the "0" button down and HOLD it down. While doing this turn the key back to OFF (KEEP HOLDING THE "0" BUTTON DOWN!), then back to ON. Continue holding that darn button down for at LEAST 10 seconds, until you hear a "beep" noise from the cluster and the FSS display (trip meter display) will then read 10000 and you're good to go.

PS PLEASE get an owners manual, you really NEED to have it. MB sells them or maybe EBay.

THANK YOU!

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for!

We aim to please. But really, you should be able to score an owners manual for around 10 or 20 bucks pretty easily, these cars are more complex than they appear, many buttons have several functions you may not know about.
