My thanks to all who administer and support this site--it truely is outstanding and quite enjoyable.

I've reviewed all the threads on Extended Warranty but would like to ask if anyone has had any specfic experience (good or bad) with the "Encore plan" from SmartChoice or the "Advantage Coverage" from Western Diversified.

It sounds like a "no brainer" as the "Encore" plan will provide an additional 50K miles or 5 years on my recently acquired 93 500SEL (18K miles) for under $2K.

Let's put it this way, last week I replaced an instrument cluster($ 1200),a soft top control module ($1300) and a throtle actuator($1200) on the same car. Thank you to the extended warranty company who really made my day... when it rain,it pour I was just the lucky guy who made the bucks on it...and the client is now thinking of getting an extended warranty on his wife's car...
