I am going to order a new hood insulation pad from Parts Shop. What adhesive would be proper for the high temps involved, and would Parts Shop stock this adhesive?

Use the 3M. We use the super trim adhesive. You can get it in the spray can.

The key is to remove ALL of the old debris. Then apply EVEN coats (like painting) to BOTH surfaces. Let dry for 5-7 minutes then apply.

Be right the first time, you get one chance. This stuff is better than super glue.

The the 3M super trim adhesive spray can gives a vertical slot spray pattern. It makes the job quick , clean, and easy. You spray the adhesive where you want it to be exactly because of the special nozzle. There is little or no chance of accident getting the adhesive on other parts of the car. It is highly recommended.

Yeah, Super Trim Adhesive's the way to go. And Benzmac's right...get it right the first time. Definitely a 2-man job.

I usually do it by myself with a broom stick to position the pad. The job is easier if you have a helper (assuming that you give correct instructions to your helper). I like to do it on a warm/hot day and the job can be done quickly. One can of spray is good for two pads on the 123 body.
