W140 - Which Wiring Harness?
 

I have a 92 500SEL W140; Has a ton of the same problems most of the W140 owners have related to a faulty wiring harness:

I get DTC's for all sorts of components that actually work fine. Some days I get more power than others... and after reading many of the posts regarding this issue, it seems that the wiring harness is a true culprit.

SO... I ordered a harness from the wonderful mercedesshop.com. What I got was 140 540 95 05 A harness that appears to be the fuel injection harness. Is this the usual suspect in the W140? Most of the posts refer to "Engine harness" as does my mechanic. Can someone please set me straight?

The engine harness IS the fuel injector harness. THERE are also left & right engine area harness, however they rarely need replacement!
