while driving my 86 300e on the freeway, the
left caliper seem to lock causing the car to vibrate. pulled over step on the brakes and it goes back to normal. check the rotor no warp. i think the caliper is sticking. what
service would any recommend?

thanks

Have the caliper rebuilt by a tech that you trust with your life. Brakes are one thing I don't play with on a car. Then have the system flushed.

benzmac, my tech flush the brake, check the abs pump, still front brake is stuck. he then
disconnected the abs computer to run w/out abs. still the front brake still
stuck. tried to move the piston on front caliper. it move freely but when you put back
the tires and drive it the front brake again
would stick. we suspect the master cylinder.
he check the abs pump it works.
any suggestions?

thanks

The problem could be the brake hose. They can deteriorate internally and act as a one way valve. The ABS pump assembly can't be the problem. The ABS system can only reduce brake pressure...not hold or apply it.

brake hose was fine. well at first the left hose was twisted . so we corrected the problem.
even the brake pedal would feel it has a lot pressure and it wont release it after applying brakes. thats why the front calipers are sticking.manually pushing back the piston would release the rotor. and its only
the front. even the brake fluid would not flow if you open the front bleeders while pushing the brake pedal.

thanks for any advice

could it be the master cylinder thats
acting as a one way valve for the front brake?

again thanks

I have a similar problem with a new purchaser. How did this get fixed?
