I have a 1994 C180 with 198000kms which starts 1st time everytime. My other is a 1997 C180 with 224000kms, newer in age and drives a lot better with the 5sp auto, but it needs 2 turns of the starter before it runs properly. First turn, it fires and runs, then it burps (like) , a pause in firing, then it either goes on or dies. If it dies, the second turn will get it going with no further problems. This happens mainly on cold starts any time of day. Anyone here with any idea of whats happenning? The 1994 has a 2 year old fuel pump and filter, same age plugs, 2 yr old battery and so on. The 1997 was serviced last in February this year. No parts have been changed except for brand new battery, so fuel pump possibly the original. Are any bells ringing in your heads guys besides the high mileage??? Cheers.
