Does this make me a redneck?
I got a friend of mine to make a straight exhaust for my 300D, He also gave me an old AMG spilt chrome tip
 It's a bit loud but it sounds so deep and powerful now lol

As long as you don't put a chrome stack up the side of the car, I don't think it's "redneckish". I'm betting you'll get tired of the noise and go back to a muffler.

It did increase about 1-2 mpg, I thought I would be sick of the sound by now but I love it more everyday. I get compliments on how good it sounds

I think you got tired of it because it comes out the driver side. If you put it out the back, I'll bet you won't tire of it.

What you should do is run straight pipes right up through your hood. Now, THAT would be classy! Plus, then you could see the black smoke coming out. What a rush!

I actually did have it out the back right before I put the muffler back on. The noise inside the car was not bad at all it was just too loud outside, I did not notice until I heard it driving away from me.
Wooooo Yeaahhh some stacks out of the hood would be saweet!! Do NOT touch the Treeeimm!!!
