I recall seeing some badly smashed W126's in a dismantlers yard when looking for stuff for my 300SEL many years ago with a mate of mine who was always giving me crap about my "Mafia staff car".
I noticed he had gone a bit quiet and was looking at some of the smashed cars including a W117 that looked like it had been hit front and rear by big trucks and on the way out he mentioned a few of the wrecks. So I gently reminded him that there are a lot of idiots on the road and a bit of extra insurance was worth the peace of mind when you have kids in the car. Silly bugger went and bought a Volvo but you could see it got him thinking. Tony

Back when that add was on TV here in Australia, MB had that car at the motor show in Melbourne Victoria Australia.
I remember seeing it. The add is true, no touch ups. The accident happened on the highway between Geelong & Colac Tony.

Reminds me of a W126 I saw a couple years ago at a buddy's home. His ex ran off the road at 90, hit a tree and rolled it. The doors all still opened and the safety cage was intact - She walked away with minor cuts from the flying glass.
