What is this car ???

I just bought this 1959 Mercedes, but I have no idea about its model or real value.
It was a bargain and I just liked it so much I got it.
Can you help me with any information on that picture.

Are there any serial numbers to be found, anywhere? Look on the radiator surround. With the serial number people on this site can tell you just about EVERYTHING about a car.

Where is this car, by the way? Many models weren't sold in the U.S. so that helps us start the "research".

I think it's a 1959 Hillman Minx w/ custom MB appointments.

It can't be an original 220S convertible. The doors on the 220S end just in front of the rear wheel. With the B-pillar sticking up like that I'm pretty sure it's a converted 4-door sedan. The hood looks like the short version, from the 4-cylinder models.

That's what I'm guessing.

On second thought, there really isn't room for a rear door behind the front door. And the B-pillar is not from a sedan. Oh well, I never said I was sure.....

It looks like a converted 180. The hood is way too short for a 220S/SE cabrio. MB would never leave the 'B' pillar attached.

Nah, I still say it's a fake...... The fender top-mounted signal lights are too far back, the corner wing window isnt Mercedes and neither are the external hinges for the hood.

Including 4 hubcaps, I count 9 authentic MB parts on what appears to be a 1959 Hillman Minx.

Thumbs down

Hello,
I agree that it is a FAKE, the proportions are all incorrect.

It may very well be a fake... who knows. I would think the originator of this thread SHOULD have some sort of documentation to help unravel the mystery. If nothing else, he should be able to find the vin # or something SOMEWHERE on the car....

Anyway, if it IS a Minx, it truely suprises me that someone would go to all that extent to imitate a mercedes, when they could simply go buy one for less money. To convert the Minx, they would have had to have changed the entire front end, add the "fender flares" on the rear, etc., etc., etc. Lots of work and money there just to build a fake. Just doesn't make good sense... not to say that because it doesn't make sense means it isn't possible....

yasserbarkoki... now that everyone is thoroughly confused and scratching their heads, can you give us a little more info?????????

It Has to be a replicar. The hood hinges on the outside are a dead giveaway as are the B pillars.
