Does anyone have a 1969 114 230 6-cylinder? How rare is this car?

I guess nobody has replied because nobody knows the production figures on the 230/8. Among 114's I'd say yours is the rarest but that's just my opinion.

I don't know which models were brought across the pond, but here are the total production numbers for the /8. I don't know how many '69s there were:

Thank you guys for replying! I'm at a loss finding info on my new mercedes. It is a truly beautiful vehicle. Olive green with black interior. I'm not sure if it's leather or leatherette. The car is all original with 125,000 miles on it. The only thing that's not original is the radio but that has already been removed. The engine runs great but I'm currently changing the blown head gasket. It has a four speed manual transmission and all the original hub caps. I'm really proud to be the new owner and would appreciate any advice or information you guys can offer me!

Simple car, tough as hell, watch the rust. The engine is the same as in the 220S and 230/230S with minor displacement change. It has a 4 main bearing crank and Zenith carbs. The /8's came out in 1968.

About 5000 of the 230/8 models were imported, as to the number of 69s, don't know. You might check W. Robert Nitske's book on MB production models. I should have a copy, but do not. They were phased out in 69 because the smog rules took such a high toll on power. The 250 became the standard six cylinder.

It's been upgraded.

Some people we knew in California, back in 1968, bought a new 230/8 and sold it recently. Long lived little bugger. I wish I had know they wanted to sell it, I would have bought it.

i also have a 69 MB 230.6. Anyone know how many floor shift and how many column shift in 230.6 model?

A 69 230.6 was my first MB. Ivory with black Tex, and column shifted auto. Unfortunately, I only had it five days before totalling it in an accident. Some Joker in a 66 Buick Wildcat turned left in front of me from behind a truck. Wife was 5 months pregnant at the time. No injuries, car was sacrificed for our safety. bought a 70 108 from original owners with the insurance settlement. 385,000 miles with full service history from new.

As I recall, the 230 was a solid, and I was impressed with the features and fit/finish.

My car is ivory with dark blown interior. I found that car about 6 years ago in local newspaper. When i bought that car, the condition is good. The interior like new (except carpet). After i bougth it, i got it repaint, changed carpet, changed all window seals, new taillight covers, everything in the car are original.

In this coming summer, i will go to do some engine seals replacement (like front crank seal, valve cover seal, rear main seal and valve stem seal) to correct no leaking.

Basically, the engine is very quite and in good running condition now.

During 6 years, i only put 2000 miles on that car. Most of time are stored in garage.
