Back Seat Removal on 1977 280SE

I'm trying to re-route wiring for my rear speakers and I need some help on how to remove the rear seats. Please help.

There are 2 tabs that release the bottom, located underneath.

Then remove back with a few bolts that are visible with bottom potion removed.

I tried monkeying aroung with those 2 tabs ( I think they're red in color), buut can't get it to move. Do I press on it or pull on it?

Right, they are red.

I've never had any problems with mine. Push one way or another (left or right) while pulling up on the seat.

Your car is almost 30 years old, so maybe they were never used, and are now petrified in place? Maybe there is a small fortune in change under that seat.

I'll check too see exactly how mine work tomorrow and report back. But I think its jsut one of those things where they are being stubborn and eventually with enough time and cursing, the seat will come out.

mayeb another member can give you better advise.

Push the red tabs down while lifting the front of the seat. One side at a time should be fine and lift from the bottom of the seat cushion where the frame is located. The red tab is connected to a piece of metal that latches onto the bottom of the seat and pushing the red tab unlatches the seat.

Thanks a bunch!! I'll try that when I get to the parking lot after work today and see what kind of treasure is in store for me. I hope there's nothing alive down there!!!

I'm sorry but I still can't get this backseat to move. Does anybody in here owns a crow-bar? lol!
