$25 to test drive a ponton!?
Perhaps this might amuse some
 The motor looks like a gasser engine. Which implies that they have no idea which kind of fuel it takes nor the real mileage. Perhaps I should charge people $25 to drive my car too!  http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/126834206.html Ad Reads ------- Just painted yesterday, this restoration project is nearly complete and a daily driver. The little 55 hp diesel keeps up with traffic just fine and gets 45 or more mpg. I found it in the back lot of a repair shop where it had been left by the former owner who couldn't afford to finish the repairs. The car now has new: Brakes (shoes, drums cylinders,and lines) Tires U-joints Shocks The seats and carpets still need replacing or repair, although they are in good condition now. Needs a speedometer cable, a little work on the lights and a few other little things. $200 worth of new parts added this week. The car is easy to drive and draws a lot of attention. Email for an appointment. There will be a $25 dollar fee for a test drive. 619-275-1762

I'm pretty sure it's one of the later OHC diesels. Looks like a huge fuel filter mounted over where the distributor would be on the gas version. But what's with the ugly blue engine paint and that orange fusebox!
Reminds me of the 'bargain' Toyota Camry my brother found on Ebay. That seller wanted $400 for a look at his car! Anyway, I only want $50 to test drive 'Miss Daisy', my '60 Fintail. Just as soon as I patch all the holes! Happy Motoring, Mark

Reminds me of nearby gas station with sign that says "AIR $2.00"
Car owners pestered em so much to have air in their tires checked that the mechanics figured out that it cost them $2.00 in lost time whenever they had to disconnect the air nozzle from air tools they were using. I'll betcha that Pontoon owner is fed up with tire kickers looking at his car without actually being prepared to buy it, so $25 non-refundable deposit is his answer and it kinda makes sense.

Nice restoration of the engine. Something just doesn't feel right about that car, don't know why.

He advertises it as a Diesel but it's a gas engine. Maybe the engine knocks so much he thinks it's a diesel.

It's a OM621 motor, a diesel. Missing the air cleaner and who knows what else. That little filter can't move the huge volume of air needed. The blue engine tells me that the car is a reconstituted basket case. I wonder if the seller even has a title for this car. Unless a lien was filied by the body shop and the car was properly auctioned the seller may not have the legal right to sell the car. I doubt he will get $25.00 for a test drive, or his asking price of $8500. I also wonder how much bondo was used to paint the car. Sounds like a turd to me.
