Good day to all,
Not much accomplished this last weekend due to delays in having parts shipped to me. Waiting on the heater control selector, also had a disaster with the replacement dashboard destroyed by UPS {united pieces salvage}. Awaiting a replacement unit to come in some time this week. I am in need of the molded carpet pads under the driver’s side, and the rear seat carpet, as they are missing. Any help acquiring these pads new or used would be appreciated. Any ideas on factory alloy wheels? Not being that familiar with optional equipment on this model, I am unsure what factory wheels will fit on this model. Remember that I am not going for “Tour De’elegance” as this will be a daily driver, so any year that will fit is fine. Regards to all! Bryan |

Restoring the 74 280 W114 Part 3
If you don't mind how much is a new dash for a 280 going for?
About the carpet, have you tried World Upholstery? Here is the link- http://www.worlduph.com/hubpageMERCEDES.htm I am also thinking of getting the alloy wheels. I've been told that the 14" x 6.5" will fit, though I'd double check that before you buy them. -Vince '74 280C |

The new (used} Dash was 225.00 from a N. Cal salvage yard. it was free of cracks and in very good shape, that is until the UPS gorillas got a hold of it. The old dash was totally gone. The wood was ripped off in spots and was full of cracks and chunks missing. The dash I was sent was salvageable, but I will have to use a a vinyl replacement dash cap which covers the original dash top surface. These dash caps are available from dashcaps.com for about $70-$90. A great alternative to replacing the dash!!! The Molded Carpet pads are not available from World Upholstery just the carpet. I have New carpet but the pads for the d/s and rear seat were missing so used pads are the only alternative I have.

PARTS! PARTS! PARTS!
I have a car similar to yours and have just finished the major restoration procedures. Am now down to detailing, and odds and ends. Bought 2 additional cars to source parts from for my own car, and since I'm practically done, I can now part out to other enthusiasts. What do you need? The wheels that I know would fit and look correct for your car is the size 14" flower design (type I we call it here in Manila) From my knowledge, any wheel coming off of a w123, w116 or a w126 should fit, save for diameter considerations. I myself am looking for 1 piece of this design, but in 15" diameter. Can you help? |

Thanks for the reply Rafael,
I have almost everything I need at this time except for the wheels. The small odds and ends I am going to the local Merc salvage yard to pick up. I have no line on the 15 inch wheel you asked of but I do appreciate the info on the wheels that fit my 114. Regards, Bryan |
