Need some help on this old find

Too bad I don't have the car but I did find this in a bunch of old brochures. What year is it? Has some great pictures in it of all the models including the Gran Mercedes Limo 246 inches long

I believe '65 is when MB went to 4-wheel discs on all of their vehicles, so it's either a 63 or 64 I believe. Someone better-versed in these could chime in

It is a 113.042 chassis...230SL
Years were 1963 thru '66. No 230SL had full disc brakes.

Full disc brakes came out with the next model, 250SL/113.043 , 66/68

The chassis serial # will tell you exactly..
But , you can check a couple of things ti narrow it down,
Horn ring shape and spare tire mounting posistion , for starters.

Do you actually have the car.. I assumed you just had a picture???????/

There were changes along the production run period, but they were little things like horn ring shape, spare tire going from vert to horz mount, etc that would narrow it down , but from a picture you will not notice any changes on the 230 version. They made quite a few of them , compared to the 250sl, which is the rarest of the 3 versions
