Question 3.5 engine shock

Does my 1970 3.5 have an engine shock? I recall my old mechanic said I should replace it along with the engine mounts. I've searched numerous parts houses, but they only show this item for 6 cyl models. If they exist, doesn't any know of a source!

There are 2 shocks. I found replacements from a seller on Ebay. If you don't find them send me a PM and I will look up the seller. They are NLA from Mercedes but the mounting kit is.

What's the use of these shocks? What happens if one takes them out?

I don't think they make any discernable difference.

Flat engine mounts will make the engine vibrations come into the vehicle more than a worn set of shocks. My 4.5 is on the original shocks and I have no idea if they are good or not. The engine mounts are too shot to tell. I used to remember seeing the engine bounce back and forth while the body remained still, the little shocks doing their work... long before the mounts were as much cushion and support as resting the engine on a 2x4...

I would not worry about them.

It's up to you. It's $140 to replace the shocks and mounts. Kinda pricy. If it's a driver I would not worry 2 much. I bought new ones for mine but I am doing a pretty advanced mechanical restoration and replacing everything. My old ones were totally useless and had no action at all.
