100 octane gasoline for old MBs

The Philippines gasoline distributor; PETRON introduced a new gasoline called Blaze 100 in our market starting next year. It has 100 octane (RON) gasoline ethanol-free, my question is this; is it safe to use on our old girls?

Should be, the recommended/preferred RON was 98

Should be fine. I've considered filling my '71 up with 100LL from the airport to see if it runs any different. As I understand it's probably closer to what was sold at the pump than what is available as car fuel now.

what model car, sir? I have a Euro 280S (W116) M110 carburetor (high compression) engine, should I back off the timing by a few degrees when using this fuel?

You would need to back timing off for lower octane, for higher octane you should be able to run more advance and hence get more power.

Hence the dial thing in some cars or the plug in resistor in the later W126. I took my resistor out which was pulling 6 degrees. Gained some power but it will ping under heavy load. Gas milage went up a little too. They have racing fuel around here, but its leaded which is very bad for the cats!
