300sd warning lights
Hi, guys.
Normally I just "lurk" the posts for help, but this is so weird I gotta ask. I pulled the instrument cluster on my 1982 300sd to rebuild it. That went really well. Replaced the odo, painted the needles on all, put in LED lighting for gauges, fixed the clock. Woo hoo. Only problem is that while I had it apart, I dropped and lost the little thingies that cover the warning lights. You know, those little colored inserts for alt, battery, glow plugs, seat belts, etc. I don't even know the proper terminology for those things, but I'm going to have to acquire some more to replace them. Can anybody tell me what these things are called, and where they might be acquired? Any info appreciated. Thanks. |

If you just need the colored translucent plastic, you might be able to find something at an arts & crafts store that you can use right away.
If you need the exact items with the little symbols printed on them, and you're patient, your best bet is a salvage-yard, or check the Parts For Sale forum. I've acquired some spare instrument clusters for some of my W123 projects, from the Virginia Beach Pick-N-Pull. Happy Motoring, Mark
