78 450SL - How do I select Recirculate instead of Fresh Air?
I have the owners manual on CD and the diagram shows the 'Fresh air circulating air flap' with positions of 'A - Fresh air' and 'U - circulating air' (pg 2 of the attached pdf). However, I don't have any climate control button or such to select either Circulate or Fresh air?
This is all an inquiry due to mostly cold air blowing when I turn on the heat; worked fine the last 5 years I've had this car, but somethings up - just starting to trouble shoot. Thanks Well, I guess I can't attached the pdf, file size is too large. |
I don't believe that is an option. I'd suspect the thermostat or a plugged heater core.

Do you have the ACCII? If so, there is no "button" to select fresh vs recirculate. If you need to manually override, you can plug the 2 vacuum limes going to the recriculation flap with golf tees and zip tie the flap in the recirc position.
I agree with Tom though - the recirc flap is probably not the cause of your problem. What part of Chicago are you in? I'm out here in the west burbs. |
no heat at all ?? If so probably heater control valve or tstat as mentioned, vacuum leak, line off ect??
