Cool Disappearing Highbeams

1970 280S W108.....
When the headlight switch is activated, both the left and right side low beams come on as they should. When I activate the highbeam stalk, the left side headlights display both low and high beams as they should but the right side not only shows no highbeam but the low beam goes out too. Do I maybe have a sick relay or something? Any help is appreciated and thanked for in advance

Check fuses first, then the bulbs. There is no relay.

Right hi beam fuse for $50, Alex. If memory serves, your hi beam indicator may run off that fuse as well.

Keep in mind that these fuses can look good but be bad.

IIRC the upper bulb is a two filament, low and high. Lower bulb is just high. This is why you "lose" both bulbs due to one defective fuse.

When I discovered the problem, it was after I had replaced all the fuses with fresh ones and replaced the headlights as well.
Tram, to what $50 fuse are you referring?

Check the fuse, but first check whether you get power to the fuse with a multimeter. If you have power, then go to your headlight. Something may have gotten disconnected (ground cable?) when you changed bulbs/lamps. Check again with multimeter where and when you get power.
