How many of these Uro seals have you been able to check up on 3-5 years after installation? And are these cars daily drivers?

It would be strange if Uro windshield seals are good, when it's basically been shown that nearly every other item they sell has a >90% failure rate.

This assumes there was no evidence of improper installation (i.e., seal damaged during the install). The MB part warranty is actually quite good, but you have to make it through the gauntlet first.

this was at Mercedes-Benz Center Oklahoma City....

yes i did go back, the counter person got their manager, who somewhat rudely told me that there is no warranty because they didnt install it, and then when i protested his "verdict" i was asked to leave "or else we'll call the law"

at least in Southwest Florida you dont get that treatment.....at Fort Myers they bring you coffee, ask to wash your car for you, set you down in huge leather massaging chairs...etc.....MB of OKC should learn from their example......i love getting an ethiopian coffee brought to me, my car washed, and a chair massage when i go in to buy $2.00 sealrings and such...

Is there such a thing as a replacement gasket/seal for the vent windows on a 250C? The one on my driver side has deteriorated to the point where I don't dare take the car through a car wash.

I'd have sent a certified letter to the zone rep after that experience. They were wrong, wrong, wrong. If this happened any time in the last ~6 months, I'd still do it.

If you read my previous posts, there were two cars that I took the windows back out of years later to do additional work that showed no problems. Six of the cars I've installed these seals in are daily drivers, including the two I just referenced... and I'm on the rainy side of Oregon.

Trust me... had I noticed issues cropping up with these, I would have stopped using them, and I likely would have installed OEM seals for the customers I installed these for at no charge if I had become aware of issues. So far, this hasn't happened with these seals. I've been through all the VW stuff with crap seals from formerly good suppliers, and I'm very aware of how rubber parts that are inferior quality can fail, and how soon they can fail. I have not yet seen these issues with these particular seals.

The Classic Center should be able to help you out.

Thanks for all the spirited discussion. The proofs in the pudding, I shall see how the seal holds up. Thanks Tram for keeping the thread on track. I believe I understand each of your opinions, no need to beat a dead horse! Lets move on. Will post how the install goes.

Here's another story of Yurro-y goodness from the BW forum ..... this time a four-month-old URO flex disc installed on a W126...

What did you do to your 126 today? - Page 35 - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum

Yes, but can you imagine the amount of terror and damage if that window seal failed in less than four months while doing 70 down the highway, just to save a few bucks???!!!

I just need a set of 108 tail light seals, but am afraid if I get Uro ones I will have to re-do the job three times and water getting in to my brake lights will trigger the check engine light and then the ECU will die and the ABS will fail and oh gosh, I think I better re-read this thread to make sure...

W108s have check engine lights? And an ECU? As far as I can remember, my 1969 300SEL 6.3 certainly didn't, nor does the 1970 model that I currently have back in Oregon.

Can you tell me where this light is located on the dashboard of the 108/109? And where the ECU is located (I'd guess under the passenger footwell or behind the glove compartment, but I'm all ears)

Wow, one learns something every day. Thanks !

Wow, for some reason I thought that this forum was going to be a notch higher on the maturity scale than vwvortex or thesamba.com.

Clearly that is not the case.

URO flex disc is off topic. Start another topic to bash those parts.
