Possibly their crew are now getting older plus have enough to do. There was or is a place in New Jersey that possibly rebuilt transmissions for dealers as well. I have no ideal if they still exist.
They did a dyno test they claimed on every rebuilt unit before it left their shop.

Hi...I have nothing but great things to say about Marc and Sun valley....great price for my 300D transmission, didn't even have to adjust the modulator and it worked great...now get this...I installed the trans with help from a friends garage with a lift...went to get some coffee, and didn't notice that the mechanic with me had not used locktite on the flex plate to converter bolts...two days later, loud knocking (thought it was a rod) and ticking rattling, you name it. Turns out the converter bolts either fell out or sheared off. I called Marc to buy another converter...Sun valley offered to give me another converter at NO CHARGE! I declined and paid for it....it wasn't his fault. If that doesn't convince anyone Sun Valley is great to deal with, I don't know what will! I'm sending him my spare trans for my 280SL next. And yes, he does pay the freight both ways...unbelievable.

Marc is a great guy. He stands a 120% behind their work and takes the extra step to help out his customers. He’s been a part of the Mercedes community for a long time now, I used to buy parts from him decades ago when he still had Sunvally Mercedes Dismantlers. He knows Mercedes like no one else.

I couldn’t agree more! I have a lot of Mercedes nuts as friends that will go to great measures to make sure they get the best work done. Sun Valley is awesome and I agree Marc is an honest person and a gentleman to deal with!! There used to be a man in Atlanta who went by Red. He also did great work but has since retired. So without hesitation, I shipped my transmission to Sun Valley!

Sun Valley has rebuilt at least 3 transmissions for 3 different W123 cars I own. Great work at a very fair and honest price. I too used to buy parts from Marc when he ran Sun Valley Mercedes wrecking. I have spent lots of time at the old wrecking yard just talking to Marc. A true and honest gentleman.
