I just bought a 230SL, and it was missing the windshield washer reservoir. I bought a new one, but don't see where to put it. I've seen several pictures of engines with this thin plastic bottle sitting on the left side of the engine compartment next to the brake unit, but when I look at my car, I can't see how to attach it there. Does anyone know if there was originally a bracket I'm missing, or some other magic? Thanks, -David

Congratulations on buying a fun car to own, work on and drive.
Yes there should be a bracket just where you are looking. It is small, sheet metal and has a hook that holds the top of the washer resivor (sp). It is bolted onto a bracket that holds the clutch fluid resivor (sp again). This bracket is bolted to the base of the power brake unit. My car has only one hook where I think there should be two. Perhaps I am missing something also. Jim Villers 190SL, 230SL |
