New owner 1964 220SE
Can anyone tell me where to find reverse (on the floor) on this 4 speed manual transmission car? I couldn't even get the car off the trailer - we had to turn the trailer around so the car was pointing downhill and coast out!!
There are no books either with the car so I can't research it there and was also wondering if anyone knows where to find an owner's manual for said car. Thanks guys. I'll be back with the next load of questions - I don't even know if this car has AC!! |

Welcome!
Your car must be a coupe? My 220Sb has shifter on the steering column. The Mercedes Benz Classic Center offers the owners manual on CD. I would think reverse would be far left and up. There is usually a spring that keeps you from accidentally finding reverse when you are shifting to first gear. You would push against the spring leftward then up. Tell us more about you and your new car! Please post a picture of your car. We love pictures! Best regards, Jeffrey

The classic center should have the CD in stock and it's inexpensive. If you can't find it, then ebay for an owner's manual and also the big blue book that covers "passenger cars starting 1959". Expect to pay like 30-40$ for the CD and close to 100$ for the repair book.

I believe reverse is left and up. I also think that you have to push down and then in simultaneously<----did I spell that correctly?
