Btw Idle, do you have more info on that steering box bolt kit? I suppose I could search but rather lazy at the moment. Never had an issue with mine but I'm gentle on the car.

Without trying to sound sarcastic, you could always post on Ebay with a comfortable reserve and see what the market bears. I've seen super nice cars which sold for peanuts and then I have seen folks marketing clunkers for high sums and get peanuts. I've learned a great deal regarding car pricing over the last few years, and the "ACF", which is a figure the insurance companies use to determine cars that have been totaled. From my understanding, they look at the cars which have sold in the area which are "similar" and use those figures to create the ACF. From my perspective, its a rule of thumb and not much more. Generally, they use it to screw over the the customer. For example, my first MB was in GREAT shape (W123 1984 300D). It really was a California car with virtuall no rust, et cet. The ACF per USAA was below $2K; however, after a lot of debate, receipts, information, et cet., and around six months, it went over $3K. Now, I have seen USAA's totaled cars on CoPart which listed for well over $5K ACF, and they were junkers. So, the pricing is not so easy.

The problem I had when the red light running lying woman smacked the '73 was there were ZERO local comparables for them (USAA also) to work with. We had to look west and east and fortunately the prices worked in our favor.

She lied, and no witnesses stuck around (typical ABQ). We got hold of 10 minutes of city bus camera footage that showed the accident in detail, clearly showing their client running the red light. Once confronted with that evidence USAA was easy to deal with. I didn't have to haggle over the car's value, though I did work to bring in comparables from around the country, CA and back east mostly.
