Could someone sticky this thread in the Vintage section? This journey deserves not to be lost in the archives.

I believe there is a similar car (I'm no expert in this vintage or model MBZ, mind you) up for auction on Bring A Trailer right now...

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1961-mercedes-benz-300d/

Auction ends in about 2.5 hours (around noon PST, october 17, 2018)

Current bid is at just over 18k...

Unfortunately life kept getting in the way good news is though the car moved for the first time in 40+ years today. It will be getting removed from the barn within the next month (Finally!) we moved it approximately 8 feet today. Has about 15 more feet to go to be out of the barn. Here are a few fresh interior pictures. Luckily the windows were all up and untouched the entire time. These were all taken by flashlight Ao pardon the poor quality. There is next to zero natural light in this part of the barn where it has been.

The car has lovely lines! Perhaps someday the value will be enough to justify a restoration.
