Interesting idea there. Can't say I've ever seen a wooden horn-pad like this in a Benz before!

ha, thanks, not the original safety idea in mind, but will work. Perhaps I have found a retirement income stream - wooden Finny Horn "pads"

I responded to your PM (about three times in the end I think). If I don't respond quick enough send me an email via the forum and I'll get back quicker next time - I'm a bit out in the Land Rover woods at the moment and don't come here as often as I did...

Looks like the journey might be over; just spotted what looks like this car on E-bay with a buy-it-now of $8000:

Well don't get too eager to sell it. Non-rusted finnies in good running shape are very hard to find. Much harder than W180s and W108s. It took me nearly two years to score a good one the last time! That being said, while they aren't easy to find, at least they're easy to afford compared to the competition.

Running and driving Fintails are not common. Dolly has a Webasto sunroof which is even more uncommon on a 220b. The car belonged to an Air Force Chaplain who was in WWII and Korea retiring as a Major. This car was his prized possession. The provenance is something that contributes to the overall value. Someone will be lucky to be the next owner of Dolly.
