A 560 will have CIS-style fuel injection which is mechanical, but tempered with electronic controls to deal with the mixture as it goes. So definitely, it's a port-fuel injected car totally dependent on the electricals being right AND the fuel distribution system being pristine, which if the car has been sitting for any length of time, won't be true any more.
There are plenty of things to read on this forum about the car and it's controls. -CTH |

Your guy really has a wide swing in car quality.
CIS is $$$$$ to make right and the rest of the engine is going to be $$ to fix. Given your guy wants a project, I'd do research towards: A full electronic MB system that bolts on to existing engine. Aftermarket EFI system on existing engine. A newer MB engine that is more or less a bolt in. Another brand of engine. As much as I try to do out the ordinary projects, the GM LS series V8 + 4L60E or 4L80E auto trans makes good power stock and can be transplanted with all the stock electronics using something like 6 wires interfaced to the car. |

He drove it back to outside Tulsa Before a rubber hose broke. He said it really was smooth and drove very well at 80 mph. He is making a little fix and then will be driving it on to Houston.

He'd better make sure the timing chain guide rails were done within the last 5 years unless he wants to do an engine replacement, with that long of a trip ahead of him.
