'79 450SLC Rear Window Motor Gear?

Has anyone had any luck finding one of the internal gears?

It's the internal plastic gear in the motor itself, not the 8-tooth metal outside gear.
The one in my car lost a tooth, and as expected, has now started chewing away at all the other teeth in there.

I managed to remove the gear and keep the rest of it intact, but now I need a new gear.

Has anyone found one that will fit with a little tweaking?

Thanks!

Is this the gear you are talking about? I opened the motor in my 1979 450sl. The gear was only ground on one side. So temporarily I adjusted the position of the worm gear.

If this plastic gear is the same in multiple MB window motors, then maybe it makes the most sense to take it from other less valuable window motors.

I think the gear is in there with a press fit though, and will require a puller to do the swap. By that time, maybe it’s worth just buying a good correct motor.

You can find good used motors on ebay all day long, I would not bugger around trying to fix one of these, but it's your time/money
