Bumper interchange, 112 to 110,,,,

A friend across the country needs a new bumper for his 110. I have one from a 112 I will never use and he was wondering if it would fit his car.

I looked in my old Hollander manual and it shows that he bracket numbers for the 110 start with a 115 part number and the brackets for the 112 all start with a 108 number.

Has anyone attempted this swap and did the brackets line up? I thought if someone could give a real answer it would save me the trouble of packing this thing and shipping it only to find out it will not fit.

Which bumper? The front bumper ends will be too long, and the tires might scrape on them when turning. The rear bumper would fit, but would have extra over-riders. I don't think it ever looks right when people put W111/W112 bumpers on W110's, and vice-versa, though the W111 220 had a W110 rear bumper from the factory.

Good point. It is the front bumper. I think you just answered my question. I don't have a 110 right now to hold the front bumper up to but I can see right away what you are talking about with the tire scraping.

I had noticed the rear bumper looked like it would fit when I studied on this a few years ago. I never tried to bolt it on but the thing looked right.

Thanks for the information.
