Leaking Trans Speedo Cable Seal Ring

W123.053 / M110.984 / Trans - 722.112

Hello All,

I just noticed a drip emanating from the Speedo Cable Clamp on the Transmission Body. I recently replaced the Clamp and Paper Seal, as the old Clamp had been over tightened which cracked the Clamp Bracket. At the time, I did NOT replace the Seal Ring, which apparently keeps fluid from leaking from the Speedometer Drive Gear Shaft, as it rotates.

I have identified the Seal Ring (007 987 7346 or 115 274 0060). See attached image.

Question 1 - Are the 2 Seal Rings interchangeable?
Question 2 - Is this Seal Ring accessible from the OUTSIDE of the Trans?

Much Thanks,
Mark
