W108.012 M108 head gaskets not longer available?

Hello, newbie here.

I've got a W108.012 250S with the M108 engine. I require a gasket kit, and especially the head gasket, but it seems I cannot find them anywhere in stock. I've looked all over, including European sources. Was wondering if anyone knows if these gaskets will ever be produced again, or if anyone has them in stock?

I believe the specific Elring part number is 812.081 and the Glaser part number is H02645-00. Gasket diameter is 83.5mm

Hoping that the M108 isn't an orphan engine and I can find parts for it!

Thanks.

Hade the same problem whit one of the sliding rails to my M110 engine,
no longer available.
Have you tried to email elring and ask If the gasket stil is in produktion?

But a more direct solution, I think you can buy one here.

Are you sure you mean M 108 engine ?
Or possibly M180 engine, which is a continued version of the 220 S and 230S motors...
In other words an M 180 IV or V ?
Just talking from memory from years ago.

The 250S engine code is indeed an M108. -CTH

Pricing is quite unfortunate, but I may be left with no choice. Who knows maybe I'll find someone wanting to buy the others off of me!

If custom is the only way, I'll first see if I can find any shops in North America that could manufacture the gasket for less and report back.

Just an idea: You may want to contact Mike at Metric Motors in Canoga Park California. They are the preeminent rebuilder of Mercedes engines. (The official Mercedes Classic center uses Metric Motors for their restoration builds!)

If they are unable to provide a head gasket kit for you, it may make sense for you to join forces with them to place a larger order with Elring to get better pricing.

I thought the other thread had a happy ending and that a gasket kit was found.
Well, if anybody's going to do a bulk order, I will be happy to take one.
Not that I have owned a 250S in the past 20 years, but I have friend with one that needs a head gasket and it would make a nice Xmas present for her.

Good to know there is interest in purchasing these gaskets.

I have found some gaskets for M114 motors and that brings me to the following
question:

The M114 motor is a "slightly changed" M108 from what I gather.

From what I can tell, the bore is the same size - would a head gasket for a M114 also fit M108?

M 114 is a differant Head . The Gasket is differant

You Need Gasket number Part#180-016-46-20 ( for 250 S )
Fits the early 1966 / 67 / & / 68 After that year the Gasket is differant as the shape of the combustion chamber is differant "in the Head"
You don't say what year or Model your car is ? 250 S or 250 SE
