Front & Rear Windshields Aluminum Trim

I am trying to help an overseas friend on the missing aluminum front and read windshields trim on his 1965 W111 220S. There are 2 donor cars in my area, a 1960 W111 220SEb finntail and a 1965 finntail, I think 200D. The 1960 has the upper and sides piece 3/4 of a inch wide, while the 1965 has them 1/2 inch, bottoms are same. What width is correct for my friends 1965 W111 220S finntail 3/4 or 1/2 inch wide? Your expertise will be appreciated.

Ug. Someone with a fintail (I sold mine) is going to have to chime in. What I _do_ remember is that there were all sorts of odd things on 60/61 Fintails that were not the same as the rest (hood sprints, trunk springs, etc. Sorry I don't know more.

Try the Russion EPC site:

Messed up and posted prematurely. The site is:

http://www.auto-parts.spb.ru/cat/cats/m.mycat?cat=mb&client=dr2000

It is in Russian but I use Google Chrome and if you right click and translate to English you can read it. Navigate to the model you want to look at. The window trim is in section 67. Some parts have footnotes as some parts are based on the VIN number and Mercedes made changes during production. The footnotes are in the "Apply" column and just click on the number for the note to pop up. The diagram and parts list are interactive so you can click on either to find out about the part or location. There also other free parts catalogs out there if you search for Mercedes EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog). Not all include the footnotes like the Russian one. But they do help to find out if parts are interchangeable (same part number between models).

Another option is to pay for the genuine Mercedes EPC yearly subscription.
