repairing w113 turn signal stalk end with 114?

hello
the plastic that goes over the end of the chrome stalk on my 66 230 sl is cracked and eventually the whole switch will break off.

any chance i can take parts from a w114 to repair my w113 ?

im not talking about the end piece those are available, its the inner plastic

the reproduction switches are over $500 and OEM are no longer available.
