Neutral Safety Switch W108 Mercedes Transmission " Shift Linkage Seals "

I don't know or have the part # or perhaps I could find them ?

Anyone know where you can Get all the Seals / Gaskets I don't see them anywhere I believe their may be 3 or ?
The Inner (1) Rubber washer type seal & a ( 2) Thin plastic ? that sits on side of it and not sure But Their may also be a O Ring that slides over a Small Linkage Bushing Rod at the outer end
Any Diagram for this Linkage showing all the seals Humm good luck on that
The Part Numbers Perhaps

Are these Seals NLA perhaps ?

Thanks if anyone knows ? leaking ATF from this area

I thought the NSS was on the firewall by steering shaft/shift linkages. Not on trans at all.

No they are mounted on the " Automatic " Transmission > I can post Photos later : ( here are some from the Net below )
On the Firewall their is a " Wiring Junction Box " ( not sure of what Mercedes's name for it is > has 12 Volts to start > to Solenoid etc and more .

The Neutral Safety Switch works by the Gear shift selector Rod that Runs from the in car Gear Shift to the Transmission and the Neutral Safety Switch mounts on the Transmission and the Shift Rod runs through it .
Has a " Outer Seal " where the Trans shift rod comes Out and the Shift Lever bolts over and on to the actual Trans Shifter Rod .
So you have (1) a Outer Seal (2) A inner Rubber or perhaps nylon seal washer (3) I have seen on Some of them a Brass small Bushing that fits between the Shift Rod and the seal and also sometimes have seen a tiny O Ring seal that go's over that Bushing .
A Brass Part attaches to the Outer actual Rod that passes Through the Largest NSS Seal ( about a 3/4 of an inch OD Seal ) and is common for this Brass Part to become worn resulting in a ATF Oil leak past it >
The only Fix for that Part would be to replace it or weld it up and re machine it >

You Can Buy a NOS Neutral Safety Switch on line for about $500 + ( rip off in my book )

Just found : I see their is a Inner seal I don't have that ?
Mine just has a Rubber or flat Nylon washer no wonder it leaks
( This Inner Seal Has a Larger OD about 1&1/8 "than the Outer Seal
the seals I saw on the net has different Colors also outer and inner

Can only post one Pic at a time here ? but this shows the inner seal >
I don't Know if its different than the outer seal but most likely is

Perhaps someone can can get the Seal #'s from the switch part number ?
0005453306 ? looks like the switch may be NLA

Or ?
Also Sugar Bear One could I am quite sure go to a Large Seal Supplier and simply bring your part ( Neutral Safety Switch ) and they could match up a seal
I have done this before and Got Seal's for very little Cost > once you know the size its simple >I have the worn Outer seal
so the different size inner Seal is the hard part < I can Measure the O.D. area the seal go's over on the Tran's and that would be
The I.D. of the Seal > The O.D. on the Neutral Safety Switch Where the Inner Seal go's would of course be the O.D. of the seal
needed The width of the seal I expect the same would have to Look again
I can understand that if the Neutral Safety Switch is now NLA How the OEM seals might also be also NLA
Heck once you figure out the size youn can simple order such Seals by phone call and if they are off a tad just re order .

oh that. (clearly my private email is wrong).

You probably need a whole switch, but if you've got a spare, cut open those rivets and see what you find. A decent, old, autoparts store can probably match up inner and outer seal diameters to find something suitable.

Near my old place in Bay Shore is Mars Autoparts. Their tag line for decades has been "If you can't find it anywhere on Earth, try Mars". -CTH

I would drop by Mars if I was in the neighborhood

Do You Think some of the 250 Mercedes Sedans with the 280 Motors in them have
a Vacuum Advance Type Distributor ? ( as well as the internal Mechanical advance )
that would most likely fit my 1972 280 ( 2.8) sedan > ?
****************************************************************
Of course my 1972 280 2.8 has a Transistor type with Switchgear Distributor and that's what I want to ditch < get rid of > as they are junk as I see it with the Vacuum Retard / Also because my unloved 72 trans Switchgear Distributor will not advance at Hi RPM past about 25 degrees set at Idle at 8 Degrees BTDC and this is with the Vacuum disconnected totally and plugged
Distributor >so the least costly way to swap it out for a Vacuum Advance ( also with internal mechanical advance ) type 280 Distributor perhaps with just points or electronic as long as its not the " Transistor type with Switchgear " < does anyone Evan know what years " badged 250 " had the 280 motor with vacuum advance ? I expect they may be an electronic type Ing Distribution not sure
