Exhaust System in 1974 280C California

I am looking for proper MB Part Numbers for the exhaust system for a 1974 280C with California Emission Control System. This car has these weired thermal reactors, EGR, etc. and apparently the middle muffler is (was) not a standard 280C muffler. The same for the front pipes. The end muffler is easy, it is this standard "single-in, single-out" one.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cannot help with the number, but can confirm your suspicions.

My dealer parts book shows only the standard 280C configuration with dual pipes into the middle muffler and a single to the end. My "glovebox" book shows a second arrangement with a single pipe all the way from the manifold to the middle muffler. This second type is Group 49/3. I think this is the California version.

I would try Caliber Motors in California at 714.777.0400 for the part number, but I would check with timevalve.com for the actual replacement, since the price of the Mercedes part could be, uuuhhh, a lot of money.

Timevalve (timevalve.com) has PN's for a LOT of stuff. Including yours.
The middle muffler is 2 pipes in, 1 pipe out: MB P/N 114 490 08 15
The rear is 1 in, 1 out: MB P/N 114 490 05 15
According to the timevalve chart, it's 1 piece from the 2 engine pipes to (and including) the middle muffler, then 1 piece to (and including) the rear muffler. Total of 4 pipes (2 engine pipes, 1 middle muffler/pipe ass'y, 1 rear muffler/pipe ass'y).
